Problem Statement
The modern world is full of greenhouse gasses and other airborne pollutants. In the past, greenhouse gasses would be filtered quite easily by naturally-occurring fauna, but with accelerated urbanization and deforestation, the amount of plant life available to combat the rise in pollutants is in sharp decline. It is our goal to reintroduce photosynthetic air purification on a large scale in urban environments in a minimally invasive fashion.
Design
The large-scale air purification will not use any centralized system, instead, the modules will be small enough to be installed domestically. By having the modules spread across a community, large-scale air purification will be possible.
For the purpose of air filtration, our design will harness the photosynthetic abilities of algae.
